Hello everyone! Okay so I just rewatched highlights of Jordan Jefferson freshman year I believe, absolutely throwing dimes down the field. He did this his freshman year, just had some amazing throws...
How the frick did the other guy (the white guy-can't remember the bame) end up taking over or what happened to Jefferson?? It's like a complete mystery to me....

Jefferson got into a bar fight right before the 2011 season that got him suspended.

The "white guy" was Jarrett Lee. Both of them had their ups and downs.

I don't think either had ups. And I say that because between 2008 to 2011 I can't think of a single drop back pass I didn't hold my breath for

After winning the NC in 2007, we had 5-star dual-threat QB Ryan Perrilloux lose the battle with his ego and self-control issues. He was booted from the team, which left us screwed. We had a hard time recruiting QB's with a 5-star ready to take the reigns (he would have been a Junior in 2008). That left us with two inexperienced quarterbacks, both of which had potential. Jarrett Lee (Freshman) was a pocket passer, and Jordan Jefferson (Freshman) was a dual-threat QB.
Lee won the starting job and had a really rough year. I think he threw 6 pic-sixes on the season. In some games he got booed pretty soundly. In my opinion, this seriously affected HC Les Miles. When 2009 rolled around, our offense went from a balanced attack to an extremely conservative run first attack. Furthermore, it seemed that he pushed the QBs to avoid risky throws at all costs. With this approach, Jefferson was the better choice as a starter, but neither was really allowed to perform like a QB should. Fans got agitated because for the most part Jefferson would only throw to a receiver if it was a bomb or if the WR was wide open.
There will likely be debate on this, but in my opinion both Lee and Jefferson were about equal as QBs. Lee was a better passer, but Jefferson could make plays with his legs as well. The real problem both had was that they never were developed because of Les Miles issues.

It can't have been freshman year. In 2008, Jefferson completed 36 passes on 73 attempts (49.3%) for 419 yards (5.7 ypa). It was probably sophomore year (61.5% completion rate, 7.3 ypa, 17 TDs and 7 int).
