The Mississippi Braves draw decent crowds in the summer and the heat in New Orleans and Jackson Ms are about the same. The difference is probably that the M-Braves are a Braves affiliate and Ms is full of Braves fans. Having no affiliation to a popular MLB team hurt the Zephyrs. M-Braves also have a much smaller stadium, which helps. Shrine's just too darn big for a minor-league baseball stadium these days.

The stadium has very little to with fans showing up when it’s hot and humid.

The weather did play a role but most games were at night so while hot and humid it wasn't crazy. Not having a close affiliate definitely hurt. The biggest issue was that the stadium was not easy to get to for the target demo that other cities have attracted. The younger 20-30 crowd was not going out to airline for games.
