Its the narrative people have decided to re-rewrite about the civil war too - that it wasn't about slavery, it was about a states ability to self govern. People really believe that?

Horse sh't.

It very clear based on all these posts today that for the right, abortion was never about states rights. People wanting the federal government to override a states decision on this issue?

Wow the right keeps moving further and further away from whatever independent self rule party it looks in the mirror and thinks it is.

Nobody ever claimed it was about state's rights. Well, nobody except the people who are still saying it today.

ROE V WADE was about states rights, not abortion in general.

Roe and abortion in general are two different issues. One issue is reversing possibly the most bullshite, made up, fabricated legal justification ever for removing state's rights, and the other is the question of whether killing a human being is actually constitutional.

The constitution does not have any rules on murder.

1. Treason
2. Piracy
3. Counterfeiting

Those are the only laws the federal government is supposed to enforce via the constitution of this country.

Murder is a states law.

Do we want big central government dictating laws or not?

If I’m recalling my civil rights law classes correctly Roe vs Wade was based on a birth control case by the name of Griswold vs Connecticut. The cutting issue in both cases for the bench was the issue of privacy which isn’t explicitly written anywhere in the constitution.
Fed vs state was never a consideration for the original ruling in either case as far as I can recall.
