For a while back then, I couldn’t remember how that saying went. I came up with -
Red by black - better get back
Red by yellow - jolly good fellow.
My friend (in East Texas, again) set me straight, thank goodness.
Red by black - venom lack
Red by yellow - kill a fellow.
Just glad it never came to that.

Red touching yellow will kill a fellow.
