I mostly complain about stupid. This week, I had a client ask my consultancy whether they should use PRP or a ring topology for OT in a new plant. Ask Cisco, bros, not management consultants. I've always liked Cisco, because they would walk me through stuff I'd never done before, like configuring ISDN or a T-1. Yet, this company is a full Cisco shop, with 8 figures worth of Cisco equipment at one plant, and they don't ask Cisco to help with the engineering?
I work in infosec, but 95% of my job is figuring out how we promised something, didn't deliver to client satisfaction, and fixing the communication issue. Mismanaged expectations, promising too much, etc.
A guy I dealt with this week clearly stated that a laptop for an HR employee gets treated the same as an engineering workstation which controls quality control of a product, which can cost the company between 1-12 million dollars a day if product can't ship. He said this with a straight face (he wasn't on video, but the hubris was clear.) Nah, man, you clearly missed chapter 1 of the CISSP study guide.
