Day 26 done

Overall a relatively easy day. That 85% deadlift moved very easy. I'm using 100% TM for bench and even that 85% rep moved pretty easy. It was a little clunky, but that felt like it was due to me being a stiff still (driving 18hrs/1250 miles straight from MN to TX will do that).

I upped the weights on the supersets and for the most part it was fine. I was a little slower and needed more control on the last set of DB OH Press and Lat Pulldowns. Dips were MUCH better today. Arm angle made a huge difference.

Looking forward to the next few days and testing Friday.

I'll get on it around lunchtime today. Holiday family get togethers are doing me in. I've got today and tomorrow at home with no company, but we leave on Thursday morning to go see some family. I can probably get an early workout in, but then I won't be home until Sunday. I'll just skip the test and start BF2 over.

Day 26 knocked out early today.

That’s three day break was good for me. 85% moved easy. I’m going to be feeling those crunches and roll outs tomorrow

Day 27 should be fairly short.

Deadlift (90s rests)
3@50%, 3@70%, 1@75%, 1@80%

Front Squat (2min rests)
3@40%, 3@42%, 3@45%, 3@45%

SS1 (2min rests)
Goblet Squat 3x8
DB Jumps 3x5
Lunges (no weight) 3x5
Back Extension/Nordic/OHD 3x8
Step Up (light) 3x3 each leg

Day 27 down

As expected, today was short and fast. I was in and out in 55 min. That included a 10 min warm-up and some wasted time here and there.

The first set of deadlifts was so easy, it actually felt like a typo on the percentage. The 90s goes by fast when changing plates. Front squats were also extremely easy with these light percentages (compared to the last few times we had them).

However that superset.... that had me sweating my arse off. There was nothing difficult, it was just all 5 excercises back to back. I'm not an explosive person and I don't really run or jump. So when we had the trap jump and today's DB jump, those are just wierd feeling to me. I did them and I made sure both feet came off the ground, but I dont really like or enjoy them. The lunges felt off. I don't know the last time I did them without weight. Even when I didn't have gym access over the summer, I did them with a sandbag. Today they reminded me of Will Farrell in Taladega Nights. I didn't know what to do with my hands.

2 days left, lets finish strong!

Day 28 done.

Short and sweet. This was basically just a really extended warm-up. It was enough to get a light sweat and some blood flow. Back felt just a touch tight so I plan on getting some additional stretching in today and tomorrow morning. Looking forward to really pushing myself tomorrow to see what kind of progress I've made.

Day 29 done

My first Deadcember is complete! Unassisted (no straps/gloves/belt), I beat my old 1RM PR from March by 10#. Grabbing some straps and a belt, I beat it by 45#. Overall, pretty happy with the results.

So in the last 3 months, my 1RMs are at 225 Bench, 305 Squat, and 350 Deadlift. I'm pleased with my current progress. I'm 37 and just actually started lifting with any sort of plan this Jan. I also dropped 25# over the year. The ~14 months prior was just me messing around and getting accustomed to the gym.

Day 29 PR party is in the books

My goal was to gain better form and confidence around doing Deads, and this last month, I progressed to achieving that

At 43, I managed to up my PR from 165kg to 190kg too, which is awesome.

Posted a story to IG, which Dan reposted, which is cool

Deadcember #2 is in the books.

Finished last year at 425 and was using a TM of 382. My goal was 450 and I finished today’s quick workout at 455!

Hell of a month! Can’t wait to see some more goals smashed today!

Awesome work guys!

I haven't been active posting this month, but I've been following along and completed my third Deadcember with another PR.

I only do Max attempts for Deadcember. My three year progression has been 350 > 375 > 385.

For a second I actually didn't think 385 was going to move today. Once I broke the floor it went right up.

I wonder, is 4 plates by next Deadcember (+30 lbs) a realistic goal to pursue this year?
