I don't hate JP, especially Metairie, but let's be honest: as "the leading suburb of New Orleans" it's not that great. Compare it to Mountain Brook, Buckhead, Myers Park, Clayton, Franklin, etc... and it's pretty lackluster.
We considered it when moving out of NOLA but just couldn't fall in love.

Old Metairie is far superior to Buckhead these days. Buckhead is a dangerous place. Stopping at a gasoline station can get you mugged or worse.
