And I'm going to go ahead and call it now. At some point in the not distant future Mike Johnson will be president.

That guys nature has the ability to bring people together. He will get stuff done. He comes across as sincere and not like a car salesman like so many of the rest.

Call me crazy but I know I'm right
He's a backstabbing empty suit who will get up and argue the extreme right case against abortion (just like the extreme left people are crazy to do also). No chance.

I agree completely but that I hope this country twisted as it is now, deserves it and can make it happen.

The prog media is already painting him as a “hardliner” or “far right” which of course is anyone not fringe progressive leftist.
fricking scum media.

He is smart, well spoken and by all accounts a super nice guy but he is hard core Christian fundamentalist. Idk...I just don't see it.

He supported criminalizing sodomy.

He said...
"There is clearly no 'right to sodomy" "And the right of 'privacy of the home' has never placed all activity with the home outside the bounds of the criminal law."

That goes beyond not supporting abortion or even gay marriage. He doesn't even support the freedom of consenting adults to do thier thing in the privacy of their own home. I think even most conservatives would disagree. Now this was back in the early 2000's maybe his position has changed....

This is false. Mike is a Presbyterian and was a member of First Presbyterian Shreveport. He’s a christian and a brilliant attorney. You know absolutely nothing.

You are taking this totally out of context and you do not understand that he’s discussing this in the context of constitutional law. As Justice Thomas once noted in a dissent, law banning sodomy may be a stupid law, but it’s not an unconstitutional law.

In the context of him writing
against the Supreme Court ruling in Lawrence v. Texas, which made it illegal for states to criminalize homosexual sex between consenting adults.
Johnson added
“Homosexual relationships are inherently unnatural and, the studies clearly show, are ultimately harmful and costly for everyone,”

Can’t disagree with this at all, but he’s either going to give up his convictions or get laughed out of the primary for thinking extra-marital sex should be outlawed (by the states!) and that the earth is 6,000 years old. Somethings gotta give

It sounds like as skilled a constitutional attorney Mr. Johnson is, he should have spearheaded Trump's court cases challenging the election and reinstating him as president.

He was a part of the legal team against impeachment apparently. That's definitely not nothing

I could not find the original article from my quote. It was probably from another op ed of his gay stuff...but here is his op ed specifically on LawrenceV Texas.LINK /

His record and positions are pretty clear. He doesn't mince words or try to hide his beliefs. I have to say that is admirable to some degree even if I disagree with him.
