Saw an advanced screening of Five Nights at Freddies

Was invited as kind of like a free drink and watch a movie type deal from a buddy who knows a guy who works at the theatre
I think the commercials frame it as like a horror movie, but it’s like a cheesy comedy. The broad from You is basically the unintentional comic relief. Basically think that Krampus movie from like 10 years ago. In fact, they even have a mid credit scene similar.

I just never understood how people find animatronic animals creepy to begin with

This movie is trending for a huge opening weekend. I had no idea it had such a huge fanbase

pretty sure it's aimed at kids and tweens.

I had heard about the game back in the day and my kids knew it was creepy and I was a no go at their age to play it.
Fast forward:
A few years ago I found out that the dude who created the game lives 15 minutes from me and goes to the same church. He got cancelled from his own game for donating to Trump (and Gabbard and Yang I think.)
He basically wrote a note on a Reddit thread to say “I donated to tons of people that I think are the best chances for all Americans. I love you all but I’d rather flip double birds and walk away than have people come crap on me.”
Thousands and thousands of replies from people on both sides of the aisle, gay people, etc all came out in support of him.
It has a HUGE following that’s under the radar for adult males that populate this board.

Our younger teen loves some FNAF. And apparently a bunch of her friends do too.
It’s like their generation’s Goosebumps

Is it quite similar to Willy's Wonderland?

It’s going to be streaming on Peacock this Friday.

I assume it will be basically the same movie, just with more dialogue.

My teenager has never gone anywhere to do anything with friends, ever. She's organized with a group of friends to go see this movie this weekend.
The games are okay, sort of, but really just jump scares and not actually scary.

My 8yo loves Freddie and I've been wondering if it's ok to take him to see it.
Of course my wife engages him by taking his huggy wuggy stuffed animal and making it talk to him and dance and tell him things to get him in trouble.

Wow.
If your kid likes "scary" video games, y'all should look into "Bendy and the Ink Machine." Game is actually somewhat frightening and still geared toward children. Think scary Mickey Mouse.

My teen kids want to go see it Saturday. It was really big when they were younger. It will be a good family outing whether or not the movie is any good.

It'll do great in the 7-13 boy demographic. Five Nights at Freddy's is extremely popular among kids.

I'm taking my kid to see it tonight. I know very little about the game, other than its a creepy Chuck E Cheese type thing.

My kid watches five nights at Freddies gaming videos all the time. I anticipated the movie being full of gore. What age limit would you recommend since you've seen it?
