Now, I’m not dreaming of a white Classic, so still no need to summon the Black Card judges. Just encouraging the same folks who had a blast hauling their families downtown in the summer to cheer on the Birmingham Stallions—while grumbling about parking—to haul their families to the west side on the last Saturday in October for an even bigger blast with music, style, spices, and flavors you can whiff from a mile away.

Reminds of the time in the mid-70s, I had an employee that was a close relative of Eddie Robinson. She got me tickets and a friend and I went. We had reserved seats…in the white section ! Literally, they set aside about 50 seats every game. We enjoyed it and never felt like we were a problem.
I know…CSB.

For the same reason he isn't going to a Depeche Mode concert or the Deutsches Haus.

For anyone that hasn't heard it, Jason Isbell's new song Vestavia Hills is a good one

I live 5 minutes from A&M and my head is in a spinning swivel going to Lowe’s. I avoid the area entirely if possible. South Huntsville Home Depot is the bomb.

To be fair, as a white guy, I don't understand why anyone at all would pay money to see that talentless clown ruin songs that other people wrote

Buddy of mine was friends with an out of town bass player performing at The Nick in Birmingham. (great, seedy rock dive) The Nick is surrounded by some not so great areas. Bass player decided he wanted to take a stroll that evening through some of these "not that side of town!" blocks. He wound up stabbed multiple times in an ER not long afterwards.

The funniest thing about the term "white flight" is that it has been most used by whites who live in places far away from the "flight" areas they cry about. And they think because they play tourist at a football game, they somehow have the right to "get it".

Go live it and then tell me how wrong "white flight" is.
