Williams isn’t winning it again.
I'd agree with you if the entire media world wasn't riding the Williams/Penix dicktrain so hard. And when Willams shat the bed and Penix had a crappy game against a poor team, somehow that system chode from Michigan got catapulted ahead of Daniels - HOW? WHY?
Logically, Williams should be out of consideration, but is he, really, if USC actually finishes somewhat strong?
Penix had his first stinker of a game against ASsU; he was only able to muster 15 points against that turd of a team.
Yes, JD had a yawner game too, but it was the first game of the season against FSU - a team that is still undefeated and currently ranked #4 nationally. Since then he's been on an absolute tear.
So, Caleb had the benefit of pole position at the start of the season, and Penix had the benefit of a weak Washington schedule up to the Oregon game. Both QBs started off high and have NOT continued to get better.
JD, on the other hand, had his worst game of the season in Game 1, and has been nothing but money ever since then.
I think Penix is the biggest threat, and it's looking like he may have peaked too early in the season - with the remaining slate looking pretty tough.
JD won't have an easy road, either, but at least his trend line has been (and continues to be) UP. Bama and 8&4 (and maybe Florida) will be the benchmarks that make or break his legacy here. Personally, I think he's up to the task in a way that the other Heisman pretenders aren't.
Just my opinion.

The UW offense hit 3 field goals. The defense scored the only TD.

for some reason people think that wins in a team sport outweigh actual ability and performance in said games.
