Friend,

That is a patently false and widely held assumption among people living along Metairie Road. Historically, that neighborhood was artificially cut off by I-10. Look at old maps and satellite images. Dorignacs is every bit as Old Metairie as is the new Langenstein’s.

Agreed. It was not always, but once they built the interstate that northern part of Old Metry became…well, it didn’t become anything, really. It just stopped being Old Metairie.
