Another SE Texas Business Closing

That mill was almost entirely containerboard. That business should still be pretty strong. Kind of surprised they are shutting it down unless there is a problem with the mill specifically. There are at least 2 towns in Louisiana where IP was the primary employer before they shut down the mills there - and the same story with Courtland AL.

There's a lot of consolidation in that industry. IP buys out smaller producers and concentrates production in fewer mills - I'm surprised they were never dinged with antitrust yet.

I imagine it's difficult for IP to offer salaries and comp to draw workers away from all the chemical and refinery jobs in SE Texas.
