It's almost as absurd as imagining North Koreans going across the border/DMZ for hours kidnapping people and bringing them BACK across the border. At 15 different locations.
I don't think the lay person understands how locked down the borders are between Gaza and Israel. On top of that it was a day of significance. Very suspicious indeed.
My guess is that they needed an attack to rally support and make themselves the Ukraine in the situation where you can't question anything or else it means you support terrorism but they didn't know it would be as bad as it was.
