I posted these stats in another thread. These are the 2008 defensive stats this year. Tennessee's defense played a lot better against the teams we need to stop (UGA, UF, ALA, UA) than Malveto did.

Rushing Defense

13 Tennessee 12 444 1237 2.79 6 103.1
16 LSU 12 381 1268 3.33 17 105.7

Passing Defense
Rank Name Games Patt Pcomp Int TDs YPG
5 Tennessee 12 332 186 17 8 160.42
81 LSU 12 400 219 7 15 220.83

Scoring Defense
Rank Name Games TDs FGs Points Points/Game
12 Tennessee 12 20 21 201 16.8
66 LSU 12 39 13 311 25.9

Total Defense

Malveto is not the standard. It what we are trying to escape. These or the stats that concern me and most were not good for Chavis. This year his team allowed almost 30 points a game against these 3. In 2007 they allowed over 40 points a game against these 3. These are the teams you have to beat to win the SEC. Look elsewhere.

2008

UF 30 UT 6
UGA 26 UT 14
UA 29 UT 9

2007

UF 59 UT 20
UGA 35 UT 14
UA 41 UT 17 (6-6 Bama squad that lost to LT)

2006

UF 21 UT 20
UT 51 UGA 33
UT 16 UA 13 (Shula fired)

2005
UF 16 UT 7
UGA 27 UT 14
UA 6 UT 3
