In the podcast from the Watch (which was referenced in this thread or whatever other melty Marvel thread du jour was around this week), they made a good point that Marvel assumed its fans were ready to jump from more traditional comic settings into a complicated multiverse, and that seems to be a major miscalculation.

Everything planned, schemed, or executed since the production of Endgame has just been a pretty big failure (I have not seen GOTG3 admittedly but I've heard it was good).

Bad characters, bad luck (Boseman's death, primarily), bad story choices, over saturation, bad qualify of most output, etc. It's just all bad.

No, the miscalculation is the idea that the fans wanted female characters to usurp every male character, even in movies that are meant to be about the male characters. Or that anyone wants to watch gay or trans characters in anything at all.

They should have listened to Ike Perlmutter. The MCU started going completely belly-up the day they started pushing him out.

I hope he successfully affects some change. LINK

As a non-comic reader, I hate the multiverse stuff. It's "cool" factor reduces the stakes for anything.

The whole post Endgame movies have been a mess and so disjointed. They introduced an interesting character in Shang-Chi with some cool potential lore, but nothing has been followed up. The Eternals was a mess. Celestials seem like a cool concept, but again, nothing has been followed up. Then you have just a hodge podge of mediocrity. GOTG 3 was the only thing that was great, but that arc is so separate.

The only thing truly great has been Loki because Hiddleston and Wilson have great chemistry and Majors is awesome.

None of the other leads can carry Marvel forward. I'm gonna be honest, X-men has been done so much, I don't think it's the savior, and Fantastic 4 just doesn't do it for me.

Quantum Realms, Multiverses, other dimensions, realms....it's getting to the point where everything is bleeding together and I am not interested in watching anything
