This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. A lot of these breweries seem to think that they just need to make their IPAs super bitter and it will be good. The over bitterness masks their shitty brewing and shitty beer.

The problem is that Americans lack nuance and subtlety, and think if a lot of something is good, too much is AWESOME!!1!

This is false. Current beer trends specifically regarding IPA's, overwhelmingly points to less IBU (bitterness units) in beer. Brewers are unlocking the flavor potential more of hops, that balances with the bitterness. Again, if you like shitty lagers, then IPA's aren't for you.

Yes, i drink craft beer, german beer, czech beer, and am a homebrewer.
