reservists
Curious, who all does this entail? Is it all able bodied men? Or is it similar to US?

Apparently the reservists are headed north to defend while the heavy hitters go south
The Golani Brigade is one of the more squared away conventional units and operates under North Command. Their sole responsibility is handling the terrain and such in northern Israel/Golan Heights.
The Hamas/Gaza is a much more asymmetric situation, so the appropriate forces are handling that.
The thing people need to understand about Israel is that it's tiny. North to south (say Haifa/Tiberias to Eilat) is only about a 5 hour drive. East to west (Tel Aviv to the Dead Sea) is 1.5-2 hours.
People/equipment can be repositioned fairly quickly.
