I see a lot of clips on twitter, and I think your description nails it. They play another team (might as well be the Washington Generals) and there are some choreographed skits, but you can see the players have great baseball skills. I’m sure it would be a great night for the kids.

Mostly former college and minor league guys. They have legit talent.

Also, I've been to one of the games and it's an awesome time and atmosphere. Drink some beer and have some laughs with the family. If a fan catches a foul ball, the batter is out

I wasn't for sure if I wanted to go but I put myself on the lottery list for tickets. I received an email today that I was not chosen. Out of the 9000-10000 seats for 3 games I didn't get chosen, but oh well. All seats are GA.
Also there are already tickets on stub hub and seat geek already for sale but the lottery just happened today and nobody can buy tickets until next week. This reminds me of some ticketmaster scam where it is kinda rigged.
No big deal, I am going to the Florida series at home the next week since I have baseball season tickets.
