He’s just not an every down edge player. He’s not good at shedding blocks on the edge either. He is very elusive and makes guys miss with their blocks, which he can do inside or outside. With the state of our inside LBs at the moment, he adds way more value inside than outside. Also, I’m not saying he needs to be in the middle every play, far from it, but it should be his primary position.

Reading between the lines will have to see if Chestnut is a one time not traveling with the team or if he's out of the doghouse

Right, he needs to be on the left edge for passing downs and I emphasize left edge because he’s way more effective there than he is vs Left tackles. On other downs I think you can play Penn with Weeks or if the formation is light Weeks with Perkins but you’re right we have to be selective with how he’s used. He does have to be your left edge rusher on passing downs though, he wins far more than anyone else in that spot.
