Honestly, does anyone trust the Saints to draft a QB in the 1st round?
Had a similar thought before last draft when the board was in a draft a QB frenzy. Crazy thing is when you look at their QB history, you can tell the team thought they had "their guy" in house.
Cuozzo/Kilmer to start off the franchise from 1967-1970.
Draft Archie and he's the guy from 1971-1981
Ken Stabler from 1982-1983
Richard Todd in 1984
Bobby Hebert is now in the building from 1985-1992, with Walsh in 1990 during Hebert's holdout
Walsh/Wilson/Buck in 1993
Everett from 1994-1996
A bunch of shite from 1997-1999
Blake/Brooks in 2000, then Brooks from 2001-2005
Brees 2006-2020
Back to a bunch of shite in 2021-2022, then trading for Carr in 2023
I have no idea what the FO or HC's were thinking going into many of those seasons, but like I said you can tell they thought they had "their guy" so they could draft other positions.

Bruh. we led the NFL in having the highest number of quarterbacks named Billy Joe on a roster.
that was a time. Heath Shuler was going to be the savior of the franchise. Too bad he was a basket case by the time he got here. Danny Wonderful was the very definition of a "system" quarterback and we were not that system. Vodka Collins made a stop here before resurrecting his career with the Gints.
that leaves us with the Billy Joes. Hobart was the more athletic of the two but was dumb as rocks. Tolliver was short, slow and not very good.
FYI--the aforementioned Dave Wilson started a number of games in 85-86 over cajun cannon. when he was taken in 81 he was supposed to be the heir apparent to Archie Who.
