Agreed. The run got stiffed the play before so spread it open and let Daniels have two plays to work. If not then they get the hall at the 50 and we have the ball with more time at the end

Yea, that was my biggest gripe. You're gonna punt to the all offense guy on 4th and 5 in a 49-47 ball game on the road with 2 mins left? All they needed was field goal. Ya hadn't stopped them all game. Why would you punt.

Looked like the same play we scored the 2 pt conversion on against Bama except with MN instead of Mason Taylor

Run it twice should have been the only thought process there.

Yup they had no answer for diggs. I really hope someone in the media asks BK wtf his dumbass was thinking on this drive.

The play was wide open. Not sure why JD didn’t throw it

Nabors would have caught it and been a race to the first down marker with 25

Just watched this vid. If Daniels throws to Nabors on 2nd and 5 instead of handing it off we win. He even likely scores

thank you for the screen shot to show these morons that think he wasn't open, that he was very much open.

The ball should already be in the air in that picture, or at least coming out of JD"s hands by now.

My response to saturncube was by the time Daniels recognized Nabers 35 was already crashing in and he tucked it rather than forcing it.

I agree that I have no idea why it took so long for to read that play.

He shouldn’t have to “notice Nabors” though. They play is point and shoot one option play. It’s truly perplexing how the ball isn’t already out in the picture I posted

JD was a stud all night but he reverted to old JD on that play

It's weird because Kelly has been more aggressive than not since he has gotten to LSU. We should have gone there.

I have no idea either, we were on the LSU sideline and saw it from the back. The entire time I saw the safety rolling over and it looked like Nabers was taking more a post angle rather than a straight out to the sidelines and the back closed in quicker which forced Daniels to keep it.

That was a terrible play call. Looked like it was designed to be for Nabers with no second option. Weird call after not running any plays like that the entire night.

Was not a bad call and should have been successful. Nabors ran a rub route off the motion and he was WFO when he cleared the outside receiver in the formation. An on target throw would have hit Nabors at the sticks.

Even a late throw had success written all over it because Nabors defender assuming he was the target blindly tackled him and should have been PI

Thanks. For the screen shot. I made the same one but I couldnt post it on mobile. I made a second one about 2 seconds later that shows the DB tackling Nabors and JD was still a viable thrower. Should have been a PI

For me, Kelly erased all the goodwill from last year when he punted that ball. It made zero sense in the moment and still doesn’t. There is zero justification for it. You be aggressive and pick up the first and end the game right there. For the life of me I can’t understand that decision.

Should have ran it down their throats with diggs. He was averaging at least 5 yards a pop. Wasn't the time to throw.

Why the frick do you punt there?

Short field vs Long and the Defense wasn’t awful on their drive prior. But knowing their FG unit was clutch, we were giving them extra time with the ball with the long field. Would have been a morale killer if we didn’t make it though. God is morale a fricking bitch with this team.

On the other hand, if Ole Miss were smarter, they wouldn’t have scored the TD and given us 40 seconds

Our call just narrowed the field to a third and was easy to defend

that was my first thought.

I also thought the drop on first down in the second half by the frosh running back was a big play too. Ended up being a 3 and out that drive whereas he catches that we more likely than not drive down for another TD.

This is where BK pussied out. We should have bet on the offense and not the defense.

LSU had over 400 yards passing and scored 49 points from spreading the field and having different passing options. The rush for no gain on second down didn't inspire confidence. Just spread the field and give JD a better option at passing or running like the rest of the game. Went away from what made them successful, and it cost them. Then the punt was stupid after watching the arse raping that the defense took for 4 quarters.
