The Associated Press has reported that the head coaches at Georgia Tech..Georgia..Kansas..Missouri..Oregon..Oregon State..Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are all switching to the co-defensive coordinator setup made famous by the inovative head coach at The Louisiana State University, Les Miles. Bob Stoops, after watching his supremely athletic defense get lit-up for 452 total yds said, "it's obvious that two heads are better than one and I really like the idea of having one set of eyes in the press box and another coordinator on the ground leading the troops." Counterpart head coach Mike Gundy (after his post game 'meltdown'and bitchslap) said he was calling coach Miles on sunday to get the inside scoop on how to implement the co-coordinator positions after his defense gave up an astounding 557yds to the OU offense. He added, "the present def. coordinators in-the-face screaming and face mask yanking just wasn't cutting it and we have to reassess our methods and job descrptions." The head coaches at Oregon and Oregon St. who's defenses gave up 463 and 694yds last nite issued a dual statement that read, "we are actually thinking about taking coach Miles' idea and doing it one better by naming tri-coordinators and they are offering an 'apology' to their over-wrought fans who consider the results an insult to their collective manhoods." Geogia head coach Mark Rich (who's preseason #1 defense was torched for 488 total yds by a "high-school offense), after styling what little hair he had left, called a monday press conference to state that a position for co-coordinator would soon be posted on the Georgia football website and he invited any and all of the know-it-alls in cyberspace to please feel free to apply for the position and he specifically mentioned by name...Dandy Don whose legendary success on the gridiron is 'known to all'.
As Les always says, "tis better to lead..than follow."
