College football as a whole is weak in the backfield. The days of the big head-hunting safeties are gone, they were replaced by bigger corners converted to safeties. None of our safeties are true safeties.
Not enough man to man in coverage, they are sitting in zone waiting on the play to come to them, it's like they play prevent defense all game now.
