Is that not how economics works?

A corporation has a responsibility to maximize shareholder wealth. If pricing your dog food and toiletries really high doesn't reduce sales enough to reduce revenues/profits, then people are still buying it, so there's no justification for them to charge the cheaper price.


I'd love cheaper prices across the board too. But if we're paying extra for these items, then corporations will obviously continue to raise prices.
