$100 filets, $75 dollar chicken entrees, $25 dollar shrimp cocktails, etc is fricking insane.
At this rate we may eventually find out just how many eating joints are actually needed in a given part of town. Talk about an overly saturated market. But hey, they're all packed when I drive by, so we're still good right now I guess.
A while back I stood in the parking lot of a restaurant on a stretch of road that ten to twelve years ago was cotton fields. I didn't move from the spot I was standing, just turned 360°, and counted 14 restaurants within sight. If I had climbed to the top of one of them I could have probably counted a dozen more. I don't see how they're all staying in business. I'd bet good money that ten years down the line, if I'm still kicking, I can return to that spot and count empty buildings. Or, maybe then I will be counting mattress stores and pay day loan joints.

But like you said, same here where I live, shite is packed every Friday and Saturday night, so people aren't slowing down, they're just paying the higher prices.

These delta towns decline in population every year yet somehow keep adding restaurants
People don’t cook at home like they used to. Also why everyone is fat nowadays.
