If you punch out and the plane isn’t in your immediate vicinity when you land, you may be a shitty pilot who punched out too early

How the frick does the military lose a pilot?

There is no reason that a pilot should eject and the exact location not be known

Hold on hold on hold on.

There was a mishap.

Pilot ejected.

The plane kept flying???

What “mishap” would have you punch out of a perfectly functioning aircraft?

The answer to the question posed by the military should be “look for the smoke, dumbasses”. That’s the only logical succession of events that should have happened

If a plane was messed up to the point of having to eject, how could it be put on autopilot? This is a strange situation. Seems like we are having more mishaps with the F35 than ought to happen.
