I just checked the AIS and there are 19 F/V's between South Marsh Island and Sabine Pass...all of them are a few miles from the coast....you can also look at Flightaware and see the planes that are taking off from Abbeville and Patterson and look at their routes..... flying over the the boats spotting the fish
