I was bullied by a few members of the football team for not playing football when I was younger. It stopped when I realized I was considerably bigger than they were.

Violence is the fastest way to stop a single bully.

But the way you stop anyone and everyone from ever crossing that line is to verbally embarass someone in a way that makes them emotionally react. Find their biggest insecurity and put a shining light on it.
