I had one replaced in 2021 and it was under warranty. Cost.... $1500 for the refrigerant and labor per Goodman.
The unit was 3 years old. Still chaps my arse. I sold that house and built one with Lennox systems.
$5500 for a unit not named Goodman and not under warranty sounds about right.

quote:I have two units, both 6 years old. I replaced a coil on one last year. I have been out of a/c on a second unit for going on two weeks waiting on a valve. After failed attempts with the wrong part, the tech showed up today with the correct part. Turns out the coil was a different coil with a different serial number....looking like that coil had been replaced prior to me purchasing the house.

It is amazing how much bull crap I have had with these two relatively new units. And the coil was not under warranty because the installer never registered it. I dont know enough to know if I am getting the run around or not.
