Outside Florida state he wasn't beating Tennessee and Georgia with the talent he had. He should have lost to Alabama too but they found the magic in that game. People don't realize how closed they were to folding to Miss State, Auburn, Ole Piss, and Florida. What saved those games was halftime adjustments because those games LSU looked terrible in the first half. I was thinking the same adjustments were gonna happen Sunday. But they looked dead in the water out the gate

Weird that you would count RKansas against him but not give him credit for #7 Ole Miss or highly touted Staaate at the time.

1-3 in the last 4 games. Not the trend you want to see.

Brian Kelly in Big Games at LSU

He won the West and beat Bama in year 1 just months after taking over a team with I believe less than 40 players on it and a WR playing QB in our bowl game.

It's fine. Sunday night was a huge letdown, but it's fine overall.

After the debacle he took over for Coach O, if I told you before he coached a single game he'd beat Bama, win the West, but start the following year with a loss to FSU...every single person complaining about BK would have gladly taken that.

What makes Texas A&M last year a big game but not Florida, Ole Miss, or Mississippi State?

Because going into the A&M game, LSU had a path to the four. The A&M disaster was poor coaching.

The idea that Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss games weren’t big is hilarious

Big games are not just defined by the opponent, but the situation. When you have everything to play for against a sub-500 team and shite the bed that's called choking.

Are you mentally handicapped? We won't ever see an offense like we had in 2019. Stop comparing every qb and offense that comes along to 2019 LSU.

Just come on out and say what you mean to say which is that you don't think Brian Kelly is the guy for the future at LSU.

But also for context, Nick Saban got pounded by Auburn, lost to UAB and got demolished by Florida year 1. In year two, he got beat by Tennessee and hammered by Florida in consecutive weeks. In year 3 he got destroyed by Va Tech, blown out by Auburn, blown out by Bama, soundly beaten by Texas & blew a game to Arkansas. I wonder how that turned out for folks at the end of 2002 that said "Saban is 2-4 in his last six games with a couple of blowouts. He's just not the guy to get us to the next level."

So he's 1-5 in the biggest games LSU has played so far with him as head coach.

I'd put him @ 2-4 in big games

wins - Bama & Purdue
loses - FSU (2x), Tennessee & Georgia

But given where the program was when he got here... winning the SEC West, beating Bama, that's a bit ahead of schedule. IMO

I dont understand why beating an undefeated top 10 ole miss team isn't considered a big win.

That would put him at 3-3 which given our circumstances is pretty good.

The A&M game with a win would most likely put lsu in final 4 , that’s what this game meant .

IMO, CBK overachieved in 2022 winning the West and a big bowl win.

Until we get 4 straight top 5 recruiting classes, we will not contend for the CFP, IMO.

They would have been bigger games if they were in the slot where A&M was in schedule.

The others were big games for different reasons.

FSU (2022 hype game 1st game for BK, 2023 rematch on Sun night), Bama/Tenn reg season top team matchups, UGA (SEC title)

Because LSU was playing for sole SEC title AND to still have a spot in the CFP. That makes it a big game, and they shite the bed.

SECCG was sewn up.
Aggie got back 2 key players & wanted that game more.

They weren't really IN the CFP because we weren't beating UGA
