For south Louisiana, typically in the first 2 weeks of February. You want to apply it and water it in before soil temperature hits 55 F, the germination temperature for crabgrass.
When exactly do you put pre-emergent down in the fall in south Louisiana? In the next 4-6 weeks?

For a lawn planted in mid-July, is it safe to apply preemergent this Fall, or should I wait until the Spring? If I apply in the Fall, it would be last week of September/first week in October going off of historical soil temperature in my area. I'm guessing the grass is too young.
