I hate it too, but if SEC schools on their own would have stopped scheduling dogshit opponents like UT Martin, New Mexico, Middle Tennessee, Mercer, UMass, SELA, etc..., then TV people wouldn't be doing this. It seems like they're tired of paying exorbitant amounts of money for broadcast rights and then having to put dogshit like that on the air.
Annoyingly shocked for two decades there wasn't more pressure by the Networks (considering what they were paying) to force South-West, Midwest-South, big-time OOC games...when there was WWE vitriol. I mean, the storylines were made in heaven.
Instead we got same old, don't travel, rake in dough with a rent-a-win at home. Saban cha-ching!
People didn't rebel and tune out.
Scheduling championships, public should hate. We didn't demand more from the sport.
Its an embarrassment that teams who consistently finished #1 or in the Top 5, constantly scheduled directional Nunneries when they didn't have to.
If you're the best, it's your duty to entertain and try to play the best, not shy away for... "weekend spa treatment."
Shocked ESPN was okay, throwing money away at Alabama vs. Georgia Southern.
