This was posted before last year's game and it deserves to be posted again with the upcoming FSU rematch.

Can you imagine doing this today?
And yes, I know that is not FSU's actual mascot.

My dad took me to that game. It still stands out as great pregame hype. Mike running the stadium in his mobile pen is still missed today though.

I was there throwing oranges from the student section. Although my most deadly throws were at our own fans climbing the goalposts during the post game celebration.

Thanks for posting this. I was there with my dad, who passed this year. This game was our best, shared tiger stadium memory.

It was my favorite Tiger Stadium memory too......until beating Alabama last November with my 87 year old dad sitting next to me and my son on the other side of me.

The first few seconds of the video just looked like some trash talking. Seminole had a Tiger doll hanging off a stick, Mike broke a spear over his knee. Pretty tame I thought, stuff like that still goes on today and I was wondering why you posted this part in your post
Then Mike took his tomahawk and scalped him, then dragged him away. That escalated quickly.

55-21 LSU
Man, I'd love for that to be the final score this Sunday.

I was 9 about to turn 10. One of the first games I really remember. I had gone to some since I was 6, but this one stands out because of the oranges.

It was a simpler time then.
You didn't have cell phones, or Jumbotrons, or the internet, or rap music. During lulls in the game action your only source of entertainment was theatrical mascot performances or throwing fruit. And you liked it!!!!!

One of my favorite games . That fog and those oranges .what a beat down we gave them.
I was also at the FSU rain game and the big fight game in Tallahassee. ( we lost both).

That Mike the Tiger was Mark(?) Jeffers. He revolutionized what it was to be the Tiger Mascot. I went to most games that year. He had a little skit like that set up for every game. For Kentucky, there was a guy in a white/blue suit sitting in rocking chair in front of a little white house (“My Old Kentucky Home”). Mike pretended to be a plane and crashed into it. He once showed up in a hover craft. And then against Ole Miss he was brought to midfield in a coffin and emerged as the undead Mike the Vampire.
