Former LSU Tiger and NFL quarterback Matt Flynn led a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the sports book and placed the ceremonial first bet.
As of 9 p.m. Thursday, The Queen Baton Rouge is now open 24 hours daily.

BATON ROUGE - The new Queen Baton Rouge casino opened its doors Thursday evening, showing off a transformation two years in the making.
The former Hollywood Casino welcomed special guests to a preview event, then went public at 9 p.m. More than 1,000 people were there to see the change.
The ribbon was officially cut by Lydia Chenevert, a 30-year employee of the property.
The overhaul -- which makes the Queen Baton Rouge the city's first fully land-based casino -- cost $85 million.
Several new restaurants were part of the renewal of the site. They include Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken, the 3 Woks Noodle Bar and Capitol Coffee Baton Rouge.
The property's signature dining establishment is called 1717, and is described as "a dynamic bar and restaurant with a stage for live entertainment."
A Draft Kings Sports Book will feature action on a wide array of sporting events.

At this rate, Baton Rouge is going to be nothing but plants, casinos and shitty chain food restaurants.

I definitely don’t want to meet and greet the Slotaholics but I’m gonna have to check out that Slot 500 Club.

But if I run a book out of my shop it's gambling and illegal.

I'll go check it out as long as it isn't what Hollywood Casino turned into. I hope they keep the Belle open so the degenerates and shite bags don't have to look for a new place to go.
Casinos that don't want the riff raff seem to know how to keep them out. When I went to Hard Rock in Biloxi in June I noticed that while there were slot machines that advertise "penny slots" or "two dollar slots". In order to win at penny slots you pretty much have to bet the max, which I think is at least $1 a spin, I think the ones that advertise $2, the max bet is $5. So unless someone is an old rich person, if they play the slots they will lose pretty quick.
There is a change in philosophy with Casinos. It used to be, their goal was to just get you in. People could go in, play penny slots, not bet the max and sit there all night long and get "free" drinks.
Now its more about providing entertainment, which will bring in people who will play at the casinos. Let the riff raff go to those video poker casinos or hope they just don't go anywhere, because a lot of those people will get their month check, head straight to a truck stop and lose it all within a few hours.
