Gee, maybe people aren't buying smaller more economical cars because the only gd choice they have is a fricking mirage. Offer more normal regularly priced cars and people will buy them.

Cars have been getting destroyed in sales numbers for decades at this point.

Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Kia, and Nissan all make small cars.
