I bought a mirage about 8 years ago, the thing got 45 MPG and had 97 horse power. Monthly payment was 109$. I drove it across the country and when we got to the rockies I had 18 wheelers passing me up the hills, pedal all the way on the floor.

I had a 1st edition Toyota Tercel (1of the first 30 ever delivered to Memphis) at age 16. Had 60 horsepower and had no problems with going anywhere. It didn’t have all the anti pollution stuff your Mirage did and was a 5 speed manual though and when I really needed acceleration I would turn off the AC.
