Both might've been republican longer, I just didn't check back further.

Georgia is still very much red on a state government level. Both houses are solidly Republican.

All of the states gaining population have a good balance of political parties. The red states have a lot of growing and successful blue cities.

Look at Texas for example. Red state with booming population growth in the blue counties of their major cities.

That’s what I call a good and healthy balance.
