Get the TC5 Speed Queen. Family of four. My wife and kids look at clothes, and automatically think they're dirty after their gaze. It's mind boggling how many clothes they go through. We've had it for about five years now. Has been flawless. It's a workhorse and isn't a pinko commie washing machine. It will full the tub full of water, has a great agitator, and you can lift the lid without it stopping. There's a little flipper thing in the back that you just have to put a clothes pin on to stop if from shutting off when lifting the lid....takes about a minute to do.

The TC is the classic no lid lock transmission fills with water. A more aggressive wash but like they used to work in the day.
