Give me a game that has a good story and allows me to beat it in under 50 hours and sticks with me long after.

are story based/driven games worth the $70 price tag? a few hours for an "interactive movie" that might get played once seems expensive to me.

How is it any different than an interactive action movie? You have a good story in an engaging world, it's not a repetitive experience, so yes it's worth the money IMO. And if the story is that good I'll play it again for sure. We watch movies and read books over and over, video games are no different.

If you calculate the cost per hour of entertainment, gaming is actually incredibly cheap compared to many other things.
