Perkins was the most impactful game changer we've seen as a true Freshman at LSU since Mathieu in 2010. In fact, for as good as Mathieu was in 2010, I think you could make the argument that Perkins was even better.

Now Perkins is "nationally" famous and every opponent LSU plays will have him as their No.1 target. After he essentially won the Arkansas game by himself we saw A&M and Georgia do a good job mitigating his impact in those games.

My hope is that he is about to take the same path as guys like Kendal Beckwith and Devin White. Guys with freakish athleticism who played more or less played as situational rushers as freshmen, but then became dominant inside LBs in their second year.
