Always laugh at this expected response. People who say this go to drink/gamble and never leave the strip.

Go back, go to Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Mt Charleston, Lake Mead, Summerlin, try different restaurants, go see a VGK game, so many different things to see and do. Ive been about 25 times, every trip is different.

I think I have realized I dont want anything to do with big cities anymore.

Give me the mountain or smaller beach areas.

i majored in math at LSU (no lie) and gambling has *ZERO* appeal to me.

i actually tried once to do the 'all on red or black' at roulette in the mirage where i was staying and i was told by the dealer that i could not do that; i had to spread my bet around.

that ended my very short gambling career. i finally break down and try something with the best odds and Vegas decided they didn't want to give me a one time bet with 49% odds. i was pissed.

walked back to teller, cashed my chips and went for a walk in the mall at ceasers palace instead and looked at watches i couldn't afford.

I'm a CPA. I completely understand the odds. I like craps and blackjack, but I only make the better bets and prefer a table with better rules. If I lose, it's not usually a ton, but I quit while I'm ahead. If you keep on, you always lose! It's entertainment.

Went to a Sheffield United game, and met up with some of my friends that live in the south Yorkshire area. Not much to do there besides drink, go to a soccer game, and go to the Meadowhall which is the big mall there in Sheffield.

Seattle, Vegas, etc all mentioned numerous times. Denver also…it’s just an airport for me.

I also never need to go back to savannah, Atlanta, Miami, Charleston or DC. Had fun in all those places but once is enough. You couldn’t get me to Disney with a Glock to my temple.

Wtf? Valley of Fire is the furthest and it is one hour from airport. Red Rock and Lake Mead are 30 mins, Mt Charleston 45 to 50 mins. Are you not capable of getting outside and enjoying nature within an hour from a city?

People dont actually explore all Vegas has to offer bc they get drunk on the strip and never walk outside and then they knock it.

Who cares what the "address" is, it's all in LV area and easily accessible.

Yes. The area. Likely people who say Vegas are not referring to those great areas outside of the shithole. They are referring to the town

You could say the same thing about LA, Atlanta, Seattle and almost every other city named.

So your “I laugh” is misplaced.

Cairo and Luxor. Been there, done that , got the T shirt. Appreciate what I saw. Zero desire to ever return.

Lol, that's such a niche city to go to for a tourist.

Outside of being a political capital, name one thing in London that does not have its comparison in NYC.

The both have:

Large parks
Subway
Museums of all sorts
A large tennis tournament grounds
Major sports venues
Shopping
Major theater district
Really cool architecture
Architecturallly relevant bridges
Large department store
All the same damned stores everywhere else has now

I really enjoyed the time I spent in Oxford and Windsor better. There, I felt like I was in a different country, not some large international city that feels like every other large city these days.

You been to a place 4 times that you have no desire to ever return and justification is it’s 9 hours away?

Where do you live that there is no better place within 9hours?

I'm in Dallas and it is much cooler up there. And we have friends in Santa Fe and Taos.

Costa Rica. Enjoyed it and never really felt unsafe but felt uncomfortable most of the time. Not what I want on vacation.

What is enough of a draw in other areas of the keys to come back that Key West doesn’t have?

Paris
It was great to see some of the landmarks, but overall, the people are rude and the city is dirty.

Bangalore
There is half the city that is super nice and friendly, and half the city is a slum. It also takes 20+ hours to fly there. Enjoyed it, but no desire to fly back.

Domestic
Chicago
Did a lot of the touristy stuff, and I did not feel "unsafe" but there is not too much exciting going on.

DC
I got 1-2 times a year for work. It is an expensive city, dirty, and once you did the "big stuff" there is not much to desire.

By all means, please explain how my personal opinion on Chicago and Paris are wrong.

I've been to both quite a few times now. The thread is "Cities / Places that you've been and enjoyed, but no desire/need to go back"

You self-admitted to doing the "touristy stuff," which is all downtown. Chicago is a neighborhood-centric city - no one stays in The Loop past their 9-5. Go into the neighborhoods and you'll get a real dose of how Chicagoans live, eat and drink. Summertime in Chicago is incredible, especially with street fests every weekend (i.e. Wicker Park Fest, Andersonville Midsommarfest, Pilsen Fest), rooftop parties, outdoor concerts and music fests (i.e. Northerly Island shows, Windy City Smokeout, Lolla, Riot Fest), boating on Lake Michigan (i.e. Playpen), etc.

Not that I expect everyone to love Chicago, but it just doesn't sound like you know where to go outside downtown. Little more difficult to find that information as a weekend visitor.
