I always liked the guy and the book didn't change that. At the end of the day, one of the most nice, normal, "regular" guy to come out of that insane 70s rock and roll machine.

Throw in the Gainesville Cotton Club (a legendary stop on the Chitlin' Circuit), plus the Jacksonville bands that rolled through Gainesville to play college gigs (notably the precursors to the ABB), what a wild place to have been a young rock fan in the mid/late 1960s.
