At least once a week my partner and I find ourselves in a situation where we ask ourselves, "Are we the crazy ones?" We still do curbside pick up of our groceries, passing a parking lot full of the cars of maskless folk going into the store to do their shopping. We drive by restaurants that are full. When we were lining up for our bivalent boosters this week, we were the only people in line with N-95's. At least a third of the folks in the line were maskless and were handed a blue surgical mask by the nurse checking appointment times before they could enter the clinic. Our friendship circle has narrowed because so many of our friends have stopped masking. Some believe covid is over, others feel it's inevitable that they will catch it and they might as well have as much fun as they can in the meantime. So thank you for this community where I can go when I feel my confidence wavering.

I know exactly how you feel. We are the same.
We have basically lost all of our old friends, because they don't mask, and don't understand why we won't do any indoor activities with them. Luckily, my kids are used to masking, so when we're out on a walk, or at the park, it doesn't bother them that they're the only ones masking. They're used to keeping their distance from people as well.

The husband is coming back tonight from a conference in Vegas. He was of course the only one masked, n95 Aura. He didn't take it off at all and ate in his room. He bought the Ikea air filter with him for the hotel. He's so far testing negative, PCR tomorrow morning and masking up at home for a bit. Probably our most challenging thing so far.
