I want a mimosa on an off Friday morning. I hope the wife doesn’t have an intervention planned for when I get home

So let me get this straight, you're looking for a quiet bar, open at lunchtime, on a Friday?
If you're near the Country Club, could try the bar at City Pork. Alexander's Highland Market also has a really nice sitting area. You'd have to buy a bottle of wine or something and serve yourself though. I see people working in there all the time. Olive or Twist may be an option. Off the beaten path would be Istrouma Brewing in St. Gabriel, just take Manchac Rd. from Old Perkins.

It's friday at 10am. He's planning to have a drink at lunch at 11am. Perfectly normal down here(and most everywhere).
Pretty much a tradition in Louisiana.

Exactly, nobody is working a full day, especially one that can work remote.

Baton Rouge is a dry county unfortunately. You’ll have to go across the bridge to Baker county.

Ascension Parish is the place to go for morning work bar
The Cottage is packed in the morning if there's a rainout

Yeah I’ve been sober for 18 years, so I have a problem not you. But I get a little grumpy and judgmental on a Friday. Apology extended.

You serve bloody mary's?
I think Mrs. H2O has some Zing Zang's in the cabinet. I don't drink vodka and tomato sauce so you'll have to DIY.

Not a big coffee shop guy I see
I have a home office and an office office. Why would I go to a third location unless I was working out of town. Everything I need is here, including a beer fridge.
