The problem is it's ridiculous LSU is waiting on these two to make their class. After last year we should have multiple 5 stars already in the fold. We don't and that should concern everyone.

Texas has a very good offense…with that said, they need defensive help, they are pulling out all to get Simmons and McKinley

I think if he commits to Texas, he will be staying with that commitment. If he picks LSU, we will have to fend off a desperate Texas school that will throw Fort Knox at he and his family. I truly believe his heart is at LSU and the extended trip to BR with his family, when he was supposed to go to A&M on Saturday, is a really good sign.

UT has as much or more money to offer in NIL

Texas has more money to offer in NIL. No doubt about it. Hopefully, that isn't the main factor, and from many reports, it isn't.

The “Texas has more money than anyone” idea has been around since forever. It doesn’t matter.

It matters what they’re willing to pay. LSU has been atop the assistant coach salary rankings for like 2 decades now, not Texas. LSU hired away a sitting P5 head coach, not Texas. LSU is the hottest brand in college sports right now, not Texas.

frick Texas and their alleged mountain of money

Texas has had 15 guys drafted in the last 5 years compared to our 40

LSU has a great counter offer. Go to Texas and make thousands for the next three years, or go to LSU, possibly win a championship and make millions after 3 years. You'll still make NIL at LSU, and it'll likely be more then enough to get by. LSU will get you to the NFL, Texas may not.

He could use whoever he commits to as a leverage point also. Not saying he will but he could.

Texas insiders haven’t changed anything in over a month.

I think it’s safe to say LSU is in the lead. That can change, but we’re ahead RIGHT NOW.

I don't get how you can safely say anything.

this is a stretch. I don't agree.
thousands? more like 250 to half a million...

and the guy is elite. 80% chance he goes NFL regardless of where he goes.

I won’t melt. This will be as tight a race as I can remember and we all know that. And it’s a Texas kid.

Yeah I don't see this as a big melt situation. The kid is from Texas and if money is a major priority then he'll go to Texas. Not a big shocker. It's not like he's a Baton Rouge native who has been committed for two years with a lifelong dream of being a Tiger only to chase the bag at the last minute.

If he goes to Texas then oh well. LSU lost a Texas native to UT and more money. No shame in that.

They would need to replace him with another good player.

I'm not getting my hopes up on Simmons just yet.

I think the important thing here is to see if he begins to actively start recruiting other players to join him after he commits.

If that's the case, I don't see a flip down the road.

Think he will try to flip some people. Not from me but from him.

250 to half a million...

Would still be considered thousands. On the other hand, a high round draft pick gets millions as a signing bonus.

Sure, he likely will get drafted either way, but recent history displays a higher percent at LSU then Texas.
