I really appreciate the info. I think I may pull the trigger on a place in pacific grove called Andrils Fireplace Cottages. Reasonably priced for the area cottage that sleeps 7 with a free breakfast. Looks to be a short walk to beach and very conveniently located. Had a 9.6 on Expedia and 4.8 on google. I’ve never been to California for anything other than a layover so really excited to check it out.
Have any of y’all done the Aquarium in Monterey. I hear it’s one of the best in the US.

Yeah, honestly to just compare the 2 spots... Carmel turns people off from the outside looking in due to the prices you come across online. Once boots on the ground there though the vibes are way different.
Definitely will be an area we spend extended time in when we are older.

Also, a heads up. This past trip I played the Par 3 course at Pebble called "The Hay".. great for the feel of playing Pebble, but now spending $600 to do so. Great cocktails and easy 9 hole Par 3 course to walk.
They have an 18 hole putting course near the clubhouse a bunch of middle aged guys were playing and gambling when we went..lol
Me and my wife messed around there before heading over to Carmel for sunset.
Great vibes. Wasn't able to get any food there, but we did hit up "The Bench" at Pebble Beach on our 1st trip out that way and it overlooks the 18th hole. perfect backdrop to soak in the afternoon.

quote:Yes it is worth a visit if you like Aquariums and especially if you have kids. I have been to quite a few through the country and it was definitely one of the better ones. You could spend most of a day there and around the Cannery Row area. We ate at an "Artichoke" restaurant where e had artichokes cooked like 8 different ways.

Also do 17 mile drive.
