Be smart and do not go to the game…. It’s nothing but a horrible high school stadium and is in a terrible section of town….
Went once and would not go back again ever….

Have been going to that stadium for more than 20 years. Concerts, Soccer (World Cup '94), regular season games, and Bowls games. NEVER had an issue with the surroundings. Yes, you have to be smart.
The people that live there have a financial interest in making sure that it is "safe." Parking is a big source of income. I have never felt unsafe and the locals down there have been very friendly. Is it perfect? No.
Orlando Police headquarters is one block away from the stadium. Lots of police presence.
That area is improving ever year as there is a renewal movement for downtown.
