I was told by a local weatherwoman that a 118 degree day last week tied for the hottest temp in Phoenix. I remember 30+ years ago a 122 temperature, and having to shut Sky Harbor down because the tables pilots use to calculate speed/lift only went to 120 degrees.

She also said it was highly unusual for it to be 100 degrees last at night. It's not.

And I heard on the news two days ago that it's the hottest it's been in 120,000 years.

Didn't know they kept records that long ago.

I have lived in Phoenix for 40 years and this July is the hottest month we have ever had, it has been absolutely brutal. June was one of the nicest Junes ever though so IDK what it all means.
