Every hobby can get expensive, you can fish off of the bank with a bucket and a couple of cane poles for very cheap. I can guarantee you that only 1% of the bass fishing population is dropping $100k+ on a bass boat when there are other alternatives that can help you fish competitively in tournaments.
Everyone's situation is different but $1k/month towards your hobby should be a reasonable limit.

So when your hobby exceeds $1000/month, do you just give up on your goals or go all in? Quit doing what you love to go find another passion?
